Suspect arrested for Eastside drive-by shooting

OKLAHOMA CITY (Culbertson/East Highland) — A suspect has been arrested in the drive-by shooting on July 25 where one person died and another was wounded.

On that date, two people were victims of the shooting:

Don Rose, 25, died in the attack.
Jackie Crenwelge, 32, was wounded.

The death of Rose was Homicide #46 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2023.

According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, Crenwelge said the two were walking in the 1400 block of East Park Place near NE 16th and Lottie when a vehicle pulled up and shot the two.

There has not been a motive stated.

Arrested

Police report that 23-year-old Steven Truitt was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on the complaint of First Degree Murder in the death of Rose.

Bail was set at $10 million.
