Events plans changing due to storms in OKC metro April 27

OKLAHOMA CITY — A rash of dangerous storms tracking from southwest to northeast across the metro has prompted closings of public events to prevent possible injuries or deaths.

Free Press will update this list as we have verifiable information throughout the early evening.

Event cancellations/reschedulings for Saturday, April 27 only:

OKC Festival of the Arts — The grounds will close at 3 PM.

Edmond Public Schools — All proms are canceled.

Norman Music Festival — Cancelled. (Saturday was the last night)

Wide Open Film Festival, Okla City Museum of Art — Saturday evening programs postponed until Sunday afternoon: Program 3 “Losing Sight” 1 PM; Program 4 “Altered Consciousness” 3 PM; Program 5 “What Next” 5 PM

Putnam City North HS Prom – rescheduled to Sunday from 7-10 PM.

Mustang Public Schools Prom – at the State Fairgrounds – postponed until 2 PM to 5 PM Sunday, April 28

Oklahoma City Zoo – Closed early at 2:30 PM. Zoo officials tell us that unless damaged by storms this evening the Zoo will open at 9 AM Sunday.

Moore Public Schools – Prom rescheduled for Sunday, April 28, 8:00 to Midnight.

Yukon Public Schools – Prom rescheduled for Sunday, April 28.

Mustang Public Schools – Prom rescheduled to 2-5 PM Sunday, April 28 at the same place.

OKCPS: NW Classen and Emerson North – proms postponed

Santa Fe Charter School – Prom rescheduled for Sunday, April 28
