The City of OKC sends this information as posted below:
The community is invited to a Ward 6 Info Session at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, to learn more about the Community Public Safety Advisory Board’s purpose, activities and accomplishments.
The free event will be held at the Capitol Hill Library, 327 SW 27th St. and open to the public.
The Community Public Safety Advisory Board serves as a permanent, independent committee in Oklahoma City that reviews the complaint investigative process and results of completed department investigations involving Oklahoma City Public Safety Officers.
The Info Session will be moderated by Assistant City Manager Jason Ferbrache. Panelists include:
- Richard Sturt, CPSAB Ward 6 Member.
- JoBeth Hamon, Ward 6 Councilmember.
- Andrea Grayson, OKC Public Safety Partnership Implementation Manager.
- Captain Jermaine Johnson, Office of Professional Standards, OKCPD.
“The CPSAB enhances community trust and confidence through education and communication,” Implementation Manager Andrea Grayson said. “Beginning with our inaugural info session in Ward 2 last year and continuing in wards throughout Oklahoma City this year, these info sessions provide a chance for community members to learn about the board’s activities and its purpose in enhancing public safety for all residents.”
The Community Public Safety Advisory Board is a product of the Public Safety Partnership. The creation of the board was one of 39 recommendations included in the report received by City Council in March 2022 to enhance public safety for all residents. The work of the board and public town halls address two more recommendations from the report.
