Watts has bonded out of jail.

The warrant was issued after detectives investigated the suicide of Jaye Dee Watts’ mother, 73-year-old Lynda Watts on September 10 at their home near NE 122 and N. Midwest Boulevard.

When police were called to the home in September they found that the elder Lynda Watts had died from a gunshot wound that detectives determined to have been self-inflicted.

After detectives interviewed Watts, executed a search warrant to watch Ring security video from inside the residence, and read text messages to Watts’ friends directly following the death, the DA’s office issued the arrest warrant.

The warrant states that Jaye Dee Watts could be heard and seen on security video bringing a loaded gun and throwing it on Lynda Watts’ bed after Jaye Dee had berated her mother while helping her into the bed.

The warrant states:

Jaye Dee said, “Here’s a gun.” and demonstrated how to remove the handgun from the holster. Jaye Dee then said something to the effect of, “Do with it what you fucking will, bitch.”

The warrant also states that Jaye Dee can be seen/heard on the Ring video saying to her mother, “Good luck with that, because I’m locking your fucking bedroom and you’re not getting out until I fucking say so.”

After Jaye Dee left the room the elder Watts, alone in the room, took her life with the gun, detectives believe from audio heard on the security system.

The warrant states that in text messages to an acquaintance after Lynda’s death Jaye Dee said, “We’re doing a deep cleanse,” and admitted to telling her mother to “do with it what you will.”
