Suspect booked for murder in Southside death from assault

OKLAHOMA CITY — Police have released the name of the victim and the arrested suspect in a death from assault on the Southside.

The Oklahoma City Police Department is counting the death as homicide #50 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2024.

Officers with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Oklahoma City Police Department captured Brandon Lyon Danahue, 30 on Tuesday afternoon and booked him into the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of First Degree Murder. A $10 million bond was set.

The day before, on Monday, patrol officers with the OKCPD were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of SW 28th in response to a call about an assault.

When they arrived and started searching the property they “discovered the victim in a shed behind the residence, critically injured,” said MSgt. Gary Knight in a news release.

The victim was transported to OU Medical Center where he died.

That victim has now been identified as:

  • Luis Levario, 31.

His body is now at the State Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.

From their initial investigation, detectives believe that the victim’s injuries were from an altercation of some sort.

Police have not released any further information about what type of assault or if they believe any weapons were used.
