The victim was Jacqueline Luna, 22, who died at the hospital from gunshot wounds she received while sitting in a car in the parking lot of a bar named Paladar Cubano, 2323 SW 29th, in OKC. Luna’s death is listed as homicide #3 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2024.

From their investigation, Oklahoma City Police detectives believe that Luna was sitting in the car along with three other males when Malik fired at them from another car driven by another person with a third on board, according to the arrest affidavit obtained by Free Press.

According to the affidavit, witnesses told detectives that Malik had been “beat up by some males in the parking lot.”

Witnesses also told detectives that Malik was upset about the beating and left, vowing to “get his ‘boys’ to come back and ‘take care’ of it.”

Through a series of records connections of Malik to cars involved in the incidents, and from witnesses, detectives believe that Malik is the one who did the shooting from the back seat of a car with two others in the front seat.

“Two witnesses positively identified Malik as the shooter in the homicide,” reads the affidavit.

Malik is still in the Oklahoma County Detention Center waiting for trial.
