The Oklahoma City Police Department is withholding the name of the victim until next of kin can be notified.

Patrol officers were dispatched to one of several large apartment complexes in the 6300 block of West Wilshire Blvd Wednesday just before midnight at 11:15 PM in response to a shooting according to the press release.

From interviews the officers did at the scene they believe that the victim had been engaged in an argument in the parking lot when he was shot.

An EMSA truck had gone to the area to wait on station after their dispatchers heard the shooting call go out over the police network according to Sgt. Dillon Quirk in a phone call with Free Press.

When officers arrived they heard that the victim ran from the scene to get in a car and find medical help. He was then pointed to the EMSA truck sitting at the On Cue across the street.

From there he was transported to the OU Medical Center where he died.
