PRESS RELEASE: Diversion Hub wins grant from Urban Institute and Microsoft

The Oklahoma County Diversion Hub sends this information as posted below:

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma County Diversion Hub is one of 27 local nonprofit organizations selected to join the Catalyst Grant Program, an initiative to support local communities in using data and technology to advance racial equity and reform in the criminal legal system, the Urban Institute and the Microsoft Justice Reform Initiative announced today.

Diversion Hub was chosen following a highly competitive selection process that drew applications from across the country. Through the Catalyst Grant, Diversion Hub will evaluate the impact of a community-centered voluntary service model that forwards criminal legal system reform and racial equity by reducing justice contacts and improving people’s quality of life. The results of this partnership will be used to provide critical internal feedback for enhancing Diversion Hub’s services, offer local government officials data to inform decision-making, and disseminate information to jurisdictions considering a similar model.

The Catalyst Grant Program is more than just a funding initiative; it’s a commitment to leveraging collaboration and innovation, harnessing the power of technology and data for transformative change, particularly in prevention, policing, and prosecution practices. Diversion Hub will receive funds to cover project implementation; assistance on data, policy, and community engagement from Urban; access to Microsoft technology and related support; and peer learning opportunities.
