Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is proud to host its annual pet event, Dogtober Festival, on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Earlywine Park, 3033 SW 119th St. This event, designed for pet owners and animal lovers alike, offers an exciting lineup of activities, expert resources and low-cost services.
OKC Animal Welfare will continue to waive adoption fees for dogs throughout October. There will be adoptable dogs at Dogtober Festival. As a special feature, cat adoption fees will also be waived at the OKC Animal Shelter for one day only: Oct. 19.
The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., beginning with a shelter dog walk. Angel Fund OKC provides a low-cost vaccine clinic at Dogtober Festival, ensuring affordable healthcare options for pets. Local pet supply vendors will offer a wide selection of merchandise.
Dogtober Festival provides a unique opportunity to engage with OKC Animal Welfare staff and learn more about the services available to pet owners. Attendees can enjoy a variety of free activities, including yoga with puppies, live music, trick-or-treating for children, arts and crafts, face painting, pet agility demonstrations and a pet costume contest. Food trucks will be available for humans throughout the event.
For those unable to attend the Dogtober Festival, consider adopting or fostering a shelter pet from OKC Animal Welfare. All adoptable animals ;are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Visit the shelter at 2811 SE 29th St., Tuesday through Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m., to meet adoptable pets.
