(Oklahoma City, OK) – At the April 15th Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) board of education meeting, District 5 Board Member Adrian Anderson resigned his seat, due to moving out of District 5.
The board is now accepting applications (https://www.okcps.org/cms/lib/OK01913268/Centricity/Domain/97/Instructions%20to%20Submit%20Application%20for%20Dist.%205%20Seat.pdf) to fill the district 5 board seat (https://www.okcps.org/Page/8011).
Candidates must submit a resume and an application (https://www.okcps.org/cms/lib/OK01913268/Centricity/Domain/97/APPLICATION_OKCPS_BOE_Dist._5_Seat_Candidate_APR_2024.pdf), together, to the OKCPS Board Clerk, Craig Cates. Candidates must meet the qualification requirements (https://www.okcps.org/cms/lib/OK01913268/Centricity/Domain/97/B-04_School%20Board%20Member%20Qualifications_7-1-16.pdf), which includes the requirement that they must have been a resident of, and a registered voter of, the school district and the election district (or ward) for at least six (6) months immediately preceding the filing period.
Candidates’ resumes and applications must be filed with the OKCPS Board Clerk via hand-delivery or e-mail between 7:30 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2024, and 4:30 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2024.
