Each year, the OVAC Members Show brings together a remarkable group of artists from all corners of the state. With both 2D and 3D works, the 66 pieces in this exhibition encompass a range of styles and influences. This diversity of techniques highlights the innovative spirit of emerging and established artists alike. Together, these works showcase the engaging visual dialogue of contemporary Oklahoma art.
“The Oklahoma Hall of fame is proud to partner with the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition for another year,” said Mattie Barlow, Associate Director of Archives & Curatorial Projects at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord-Pickens Museum. “OVAC’s team provides opportunities to expand the voice of the arts community across the state. Through this exhibit, we get to celebrate the artists who are currently drawing, painting, sculpting, and weaving the story of our future.”
The pieces in this year’s OVAC Members Show capture the stories of our state through modern techniques and timeless aesthetics. Together, they highlight the important role visual art plays in building connection across our communities.
“Visual artists contribute to our cultural and civic life by creating works that inspire reflection, connection, and dialogue,” said Rebecca Kinslow, OVAC Executive Director. “Exhibitions like the OVAC Members Show are vital because they create meaningful opportunities for artists across Oklahoma to share their perspectives, expand their visibility, and connect with new audiences and professional opportunities. We are grateful to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord-Pickens Museum for partnering with us to elevate local artists and demonstrate the important role they play in strengthening communities and supporting economic vitality.”
