OKLAHOMA CITY – Metro Tech invites the community to attend its Native American Cultural Event on November 8, 2024, at the Springlake Conference Center, 1900 Springlake Dr., Oklahoma City, 73111. The free event will feature authentic storytelling, performances, and various vendor booths offering hand-crafted Native American products.

To start the day, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a storytelling performance by Will Hill, a distinguished storyteller of the Nogonugojeeh (Storytelling Society) from the Muskogean people. Other performances and cultural demonstrations include traditional songs from the Desert Cahuilla tribe of California, Choctaw moccasin making, and the Oklahoma City Public Schools ResoNative Youth Dance Troupe dance routines.

Metro Tech Finance Manager and Event Coordinator Terry Spencer said attendees can look forward to an enriching educational experience.

“With Native American Heritage Month in November, this is a time to educate and reflect on their rich history and invaluable contributions,” she said. “By engaging in this event, attendees will learn more about the history, art, and stories that shape the identity of the Native American people.”
