One dead after car-to-car shootout in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY — A shootout between people in two cars resulted in one person dying at a local hospital early Sunday.

Around 2 AM officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) were sent to a spot near NE 13th and Lottie from reports of gunshots being heard.

Shortly after, Moore Police alerted the Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) that they had a shooting victim at Norman Regional Moore Medical Center shortly after OKCPD responded to the shots-fired call.

Quantrell Steele, 25, died from gunshot wounds at the hospital after he was brought there by a private car.

From their investigation so far, detectives with the OKCPD believe that “… Steele, was a passenger in a vehicle in the 1300 block of NE 8th when the occupants of another vehicle exchanged gunfire with the occupants of the car in which Mr. Steele was riding. Mr. Steele was hit by the gunfire ….”

As of publication, no arrests have been made.
