OKC woman dead from gunshot wounds — husband booked

OKLAHOMA CITY — A woman is dead from gunshot wounds and her husband has been booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on multiple complaints.

Officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) were called to 224 NW 83rd St. in N. OKC near N. Broadway Avenue and W. Wilshire Road Thursday.

When they arrived they found Kala Wallace, 34, had been shot. She was transported to the hospital where she died from her wounds the next day.

At the scene, OKCPD arrested the woman’s husband, Taryl Wallace, 41.

Police believe Wallace was “impaired from alcohol,” according to a press release.

So far, Taryl Wallace has been booked on complaints of:

  • Domestic assault with a deadly weapon.
  • Possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.
  • Carrying a firearm while under the influence.

The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office who will ultimately determine the charges coming from the incident.
