Metro Library to host Craft Fest at the Downtown OKC Library Jan. 27

What: Join Metropolitan Library System for Craft Fest, an opportunity to learn about different hobbies from local arts and crafting guilds. Craft Fest is open to anyone looking for a new hobby or who wants to learn more about their art form. The event is free and open to all ages, with emphasis on teen and adult hobbies. Registration is encouraged for this event and will close on January 27th at noon. Registrants will receive a reminder email. The Friends room at the library will be hosting local craftspeople as they demonstrate cosplay construction and glass cutting from noon to 4:00pm. The Knitting Guild, Fiber Artists of America, and Quilting Guild will be demonstrating their crafts in Classroom AB from noon to 4:00pm. Demonstrations will include wet felting, Cross stitch, knitting, and quilting. In Classroom EF, from noon to 4:00 pm, local craftspeople will be demonstrating cosplay construction and glass cutting. In Classroom CD, craftspeople will be demonstrating paper quilling, a craft that involves wrapping paper into tight coils, and gelli plating, a type of fabric printing. This is the first event of its kind at the Downtown OKC Library. If inclement weather should impact the event, Metro Library will adjust accordingly. Media is invited to attend the event.
