Here we go again!
It’s time to gear up once more for Oklahoma’s biggest free music festival, the three-day musical blowout that is the Norman Music Festival, taking over Main Street in downtown Norman for a massive, multi-stage celebration of the scene, the community, and all things creative April 23rd through 25th.
This year, there’s a whole stacked slate of new ways to engage and new attractions to get your eyes, ears, and hands on, but the real draw, of course, is still the music.
And the 2026 lineup is bursting with buzzy headliners, elevated local favorites, and poised-to-pop up-and-comers.
So let’s dive in and check out some of the Oklahoman bands and artists that you should be sure to have on your schedule this weekend.
Ben Quad – Saturday, April 25th – Main Stage – 8:20pm
There are few things more affirming and enjoyable in this scene than seeing a local act from right here in Oklahoma elevated to the level of NMF headliner, and this year, that’s the Ben Quad boys.
The quartet has already skyrocketed into an indie scene emo powerhouse, blasting their way through venue stages and house shows nationwide and landing on the legendary Pure Noise label, but this is set to be their biggest, craziest Oklahoma show ever.
Of all the sets to see, this is the one that might carry the most hometown pride, guitar-shredding power, and chest-swelling, emo-yelling emotion.
Lauren Sonder – Thursday, April 23rd – Opolis – 6:00pm
When you think of a music festival, you think about chest-thumping bass and squealing solos and crowd surfing, right?
Well, what if you could kick off your NMF experience by centering yourself properly with some contemplative piano tunes, offering you space to clear your head, gather your energy, and ease yourself in for the three-day long haul?
That’s what pianist Lauren Sonder is serving up as she kicks off the whole fest at Opolis Thursday evening, performing pieces that she’s honed through her “Rest” shows and last year’s powerfully chill standout “Missing” EP.
some fear – Thursday, April 23rd – Alley Stage – 8:00pm

OKC’s some fear have been turning out some of the most reliably spaced-out, classic-style shoegaze for a couple years now, with a brand new dual-single drop just last week.
So it’s bound to be something to see them crank the volume and storm the outdoor Alley Stage with their earnest, atmosphere-heavy slowcore lifting the fest’s opening night audiences into the air.
Iceblink – Friday, April 24th – Guestroom Records – 6:15pm
One of the buzziest bands coming up from the OKC underground just in recent weeks is Iceblick, a fuzzy, high-energy quintet of alt-rockers blending young punk irony with 90s post-grunge attitude.
You can catch them on the Friday-only Guestroom stage, and maybe even end up in one of their compellingly goofy, viral “on the street” videos on Instagram.
Wet Muscles – Friday, April 24th – Alley Stage – 7:40pm
If you’re looking for some pretty nearly pitch-perfect pop-rock, Norman melody-makers Wet Muscles are hard to beat.
They’re already veterans of NMF, but this is their first appearance since dropping their awesome, full-length “Modern Wing” last year and the brand new all-live “Visiting Exhibition” EP, recorded right around the corner from the fest at Norman’s Breathing Rhythm Studio.
The Muffled Siren – Friday, April 24th – Sooner Theatre – 9:15pm
Following a screening of his full-scale rock opera concert film “The Nursing Home Milkshake” (filmed live on stage at last year’s NMF) as part of the NMFlix lineup, glammed-out indie rocker The Muffled Siren is set to crash the theatre stage live to expand on the experience in real time.
Of course, The Muffled Siren’s secret identity is Free Press’s own Gavin Taylor, so if you’ve ever wondered how one goes from community chronicler to sequined, feathered glam-star, here’s your best chance to find out.
DIVA – Saturday, April 25th – Alley Stage – 4:30pm

If you like your alt-rock with a massive helping of strutting, stomping bombast and girl power attitude, then DIVA is the band for you.
And if you’ve ever wished you could wear your dressiest get-up or comfiest jammies to a rock show, then you’re in luck.
For their first time ever at NMF, DIVA is throwing a full-on slumber party, with a set they’re touting as a throwback to the bedroom dreams and starry-eyed rock n roll aspirations of youth, and they’re asking fans to storm the fest in their best party pajamas or superstar outfits.
KYD – Saturday, April 25th – Gray Street Stage – 6:50pm
Tulsa’s KYD has been pretty quietly carving out a name for himself blending guitar soundscapes, hip-hop intensity, R&B emotionalism, and epic, cinematic atmospheres into something genuinely different and refreshingly singular.
While he’s been dropping some impressive videos, gracing some stacked showcases, and generally just honing his vibes for awhile, he may still be under-known around the OKC and Norman scenes, meaning that this outdoor evening set on the Gray Street Stage could be one of this year’s biggest surprises.
Jabee Unplugged – Saturday, April 25th – Sooner Theatre – 8:00pm

One of the most intriguing new additions for NMF 2026 is the full NMF Unplugged lineup inside the Sooner Theatre, with 2025 headliner Jabee jumping in to drop his rhymes over a fully stripped-down, acoustic sound.
Jabee’s already known for his ability to infuse some legit intimacy and reality into his raps, but this unplugged set is bound to spotlight that soul-baring style better than ever.
The Big News – Saturday, April 25th – Red Brick Bar – 11:00pm
The schedule this year boasts an honestly head-spinning number of must-sees in the late hours of Saturday night, so load up on caffeine, get your stretches in, and get ready to rock through the wee hours.
Party-rocking ska stars The Big News tearing up the Red Brick Bar stage is practically an NMF institution by now, and it doesn’t even feel like the fest can end until it happens. So you know you’ll want to be there to see them throw down.
Original Flow and The Wavvez – Saturday, April 25th – Gray Street Stage – 11:10pm

Did you really think I’d skip the most electric and exciting act in OKC and their first time headlining and closing out an NMF stage?
Last year, Flow opened his set with an imposter (The Groovement Community’s Alfonso Pule) attempting to usurp the band, leading to a full-scale dance/rap battle in the crowd.
Can he top it this year? Can that even be topped? Only way to find out is to be there Saturday night.
Later Laine – Opolis / BUGNOG – Red Brick Bar – Saturday, April 25th (or Sunday morning? Who can keep track) – 1:00am
Only the hardest of hardcore NMFers will make it to the very very end at 1am on Sunday morning, but those that do will be met with an impossible choice: dance the fest away with weirdo alt-electro comrade Later Laine at Opolis, or get trashed and thrashed by the subterranean sludge of metal duo BUGNOG at Red Brick?
Either way, you’re likely to leave dizzy, disoriented, and unsure of what day it is or where you parked your car.
But, you know, in a good way.
