OKLAHOMA CITY — With only days to go before the new year, an OKC man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend at a planned meet, then turned the gun on himself.
Murder and suicide occurred Thursday around 2:30 PM in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven store at Reno and Czech Hall Road in far west Oklahoma City near Yukon.
The man, Gavin Navitt, 34, and the woman, Elisabeth Anderson, 23, were both transported to a local hospital where they died.
Detectives with the Oklahoma City Police Department believe from their initial investigation that Navitt and Anderson were previously involved in a romantic relationship.
According to the OKCPD press release, “Ms. Anderson arranged to meet Mr. Navitt at the 7-Eleven so she could return some of his property to him. It was during this meeting that Mr. Navitt pulled out a pistol and shot Ms. Anderson numerous times while she was sitting in her car.”
The murder is homicide #73 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2023.
