Patrol officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were sent to an apartment complex at 905 N. Rockwell on reports of gunshots being heard according to OKCPD MSgt. Gary Knight.

When they arrived they found Caraveo in the complex and called for paramedics.

Caraveo was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. According to MSgt. Knight, Caraveo died later in the day Tuesday.

Burris was caught “a short time after the shooting” according to an OKCPS press release, and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on complaints of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony.

MSgt Knight said that Burris was not booked for murder at the time because Caraveo was still alive. But, now that the victim has died, it will be up to the DA’s office to decide on charges in the case.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Homicide Tip-Line at 405/297-1200.
