Victim dies at hospital from late-night shooting in NW OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY — (UPDATED) — A victim of a shooting in NW OKC Thursday night died from their wounds at the hospital.

The victim was Darius Lee Edwards, 20.

The death marks homicide #38 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2024.

Patrol officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were dispatched to 7519 Knight Lake Drive in an apartment complex Thursday at 10:09 PM on reports of a shooting.

When they arrived they found one shooting victim still alive outside an apartment “and began rendering aid,” according to a press release from MSgt. Gary Knight.

That victim was then transported to the OU Medical Center where he later died from his wounds.

From information gathered at the scene, police currently believe “the victim became involved in an armed confrontation when he was shot,” said Knight.

Three people have been booked in the first week of July on a complaint of First Degree Murder:

  • Samara Kenoly, 18
  • Mahlonni Bobo, 17
  • Dontae Winslett, 18
