-- Homicides #6 and #7 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2025

OKLAHOMA CITY — Three persons, all under 21, were part of a dispute in a Southside parking lot that ended with two dead and one hospitalized from gunshot wounds.

The two deaths are being counted as homicide #6 and homicide #7 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2025.

The one who lived was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a complaint of Murder in the Second Degree.

On Tuesday night around 8:30 PM the emergency room at Southwest Medical Center, 4401 S. Western Avenue, contacted the Oklahoma City Police Department to report three teenage males who arrived in two vehicles with gunshot wounds.

After their initial investigation, police believe that an unknown number of individuals met at a parking lot at 5212 S. Villa. While there, a dispute broke out and “escalated to a gunfight between them,” according to SSgt. Dillon Quirk with OKCPD.

Three were taken to the hospital in two separate vehicles.

One of the individuals, 18-year-old Oscar Herrera, died soon after arrival. Then, later, 17-year-old Raymundo Fernandez died from his gunshot wounds.

The third male, also 17, was arrested and booked on a Second Degree Murder complaint. The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office, who will determine if any charges will be filed.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Tip Line at 405/297-1200.
