Teen arrested in shooting death of another teen on far south side

OKLAHOMA CITY (Prairie Queen neighborhood) — One teen was arrested on suspicion of shooting and killing another teen, who was discovered dead in a drainage ditch on the far south side of OKC late Thursday.

Booked for first-degree murder into the Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Center was:

  • Marco Castro, 16

Police were called to the 7300 block of S. Indiana Ave. late Thursday after receiving reports of “gunfire in the area,” according to Sgt. Dillon Quirk with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Officers searched the area and found one teen dead in a drainage ditch aparently from a gunshot wound.

The victim is:

  • Armani Rivera, 16

“Castro was taken into custody at his residence in the 1300 block of SW 67th St.,” said Quirk in the press release. “He was interviewed and booked into the Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Center on a complaint of First-Degree Murder.”

No other details are being released at this time.
