Suspects booked for double homicide in January

OKLAHOMA CITY — Suspects in the shooting deaths of two people on the property of an abandoned school near NW 10th and Penn in January were captured and booked for murder in each case.

Nicholas Tyre Myers, 26, was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center around 4:30 PM Friday after being arrested by officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

A second person, a minor, was also arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center as a suspect in the same cases. We are not publishing the name because they are a minor.

Myers was booked on two counts of First Degree Murder. Bond was denied.

The shooting is suspected to have happened at the same time at the unsecured, abandoned school building at 1900 NW 10th, infamous as a hangout for anyone who wants to enter.

Danielle Mahaffrey, 35, was found dead by officers when they first arrived. Police have counted her death as homicide #4 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2024.

Joshua Williams, 29, a second victim found in critical condition at the same scene was sent to the hospital where he later died from his wounds. Police are counting his death as homicide #6 for the City of Oklahoma City.
