OKLAHOMA CITY — A shooting during a household altercation on the far south side has resulted in one person dead and one juvenile being questioned by police about their involvement.

In the dark morning hours of Sunday at 2:30 a.m. officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were called to 8404 S. Drexel Place on reports of a person being shot inside the residence, according to an OKCPD news release.

“Police arrived and found 38-year-old Cory Cade, deceased with several gunshot wounds,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk with OKCPD.

From their initial investigation, which is not complete, police believe that Cade and another member of the household had been involved in and “altercation.”

Police believe that a juvenile in the home shot Cade to defend the other member of the household who was in the altercation with Cade.

Before police arrived the juvenile “fled the scene” but was found later by patrol officers.

As of Monday morning, no arrests have been made.
