The City of OKC sends this information as posted below:
The City of Oklahoma City invites residents, business owners and community members who live, work or travel along Classen Boulevard to share their experiences and ideas for Thrive on Classen, the Classen Corridor Transit-Oriented Development Plan.
As the city’s first transit-oriented development plan, the study will focus on the areas around Classen Boulevard from roughly NW 10th Street to NW 48th Street, including Midtown, the Asian District, Paseo, Uptown 23rd and surrounding neighborhoods.
Residents are encouraged to learn about the plan and share input through an online survey and interactive maps at vision.okc.gov/classen. The interactive map lets residents drop pins at specific locations along the corridor to share insights on what they would like to see improved and their ideas for the corridor’s future.
Input from the community will help shape how the corridor grows in the years ahead, guiding decisions about safer streets, expanded housing and business opportunities, walkability and connection along one of Oklahoma City’s most historic and well-traveled corridors.
The Thrive on Classen plan will be designed around the new RAPID NW bus rapid transit line, which brings faster, more frequent service to the corridor. The plan will use that transit investment as the starting point for strategic, community-centered growth. As the city’s first effort of its kind, it will serve as a model for how Oklahoma City grows around high-quality public transportation in the decades to come.
“Community input is at the heart of this plan,” said Kim Cooper-Hart, planning division manager for the City of Oklahoma City. “Classen Boulevard connects some of our most vibrant districts and neighborhoods, and the people who live, work and travel here every day understand it best. Their voices will help us build a plan that reflects what this corridor means to the community and provides a road map for future development.”
The survey is available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese and will remain open through August 31.
After this phase of public input, the project team will continue developing the plan, with additional opportunities for community involvement throughout the process. Thrive on Classen is a City-led project funded by a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant and is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
