NORMAN, Okla. – The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is excited to announce its latest series of public events, camps and programs as we enter the new year. Visitors can learn more about upcoming programs and register through our online events calendar at samnoblemuseum.ou.edu.

January 2025 Events:

  • Explorers Camp: Jan. 20 – Young explorers age 6-11 can join a day of adventure with activities, crafts, games and gallery tours. 
  • Lecture Series: Impacts of Climate Change on Oklahoma: Jan. 22 – Renee McPherson, Ph.D., discusses climate change impacts in Oklahoma at noon
  • Spike’s Club: Spaced Out: Jan. 23 to Feb. 13 – Children age 6-11 explore the science of outer space through activities, crafts and play from 3:30 to 5 p.m. every Thursday.
  • Crazy Camouflage: Jan. 25 – Families learn about nature’s masters of disguise through games and crafts from 2-3:30 p.m.

February 2025 Events:

  • Little Scientists: Making Music: Feb. 4 – Introduce your 3- 5-year-old learner to science concepts through doing, discovering and making music from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
  • Curiousiday: Bio-Inspired: Feb. 8 – Enjoy activities, crafts, museum specimens and collection chats inspired by our Wild Creativity temporary exhibit from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Night in the Exhibits (N.I.T.E.): Feb. 15 – An adults-only evening of socializing and discovery in museum galleries from 6 to 9 p.m.
  • Game On!: Feb. 20 – Play nature- and science-inspired boardgames (no experience required), for ages 12-17 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Recurring Events: 

  • Crafts and Tales: Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. – Young children and families enjoy a story, participate in an educational activity, and create a craft. Free with museum admission.
