PRESS RELEASE: Residents encouraged to join virtual workshop on how to provide input for OKC’s 2025 bond program

The City of OKC sends this information as posted below:

The City of Oklahoma City will host a virtual workshop about how residents can provide input on a bond election planned for the fall of 2025.

The workshop will take place from noon – 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2025, at vision.okc.gov/go-bond-2025/virtual-meeting-go-bond-meeting.

“As we wrap up public engagement for the 2025 GO Bond, the City will analyze the input we received to help identify priorities for the bond package,” City Manager Craig Freeman said. “With thousands of ideas shared, we’ve learned a lot about our neighborhood and community needs throughout this engagement process which included in-person workshops, citywide pop-ups, an online map and virtual opportunities. While we can’t meet every need across the City’s 621 miles, the input from residents is important to identify priorities.”

Almost 3,000 ideas have been submitted so far.

GO bonds are OKC’s most important tool to fund major infrastructure projects like building or rebuilding streets, bridges, parks, police and fire facilities, sidewalks and more. Bond projects have been used since before statehood to pay for the City’s critical infrastructure and are determined based on street and bridge ratings, planning studies, the City Council’s priorities, operating impact and resident survey results.

There are several other ways people can provide input through Jan. 15, 2025:
