PRESS RELEASE: OKCPS seeks community input for Superintendent search

Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) sends this information as posted below:

The Oklahoma City Public Schools Board of Education, in partnership with the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA), has launched an online survey, seeking the public’s input as they begin the search for their next district leader. Located on the district’s website – www.okcps.org/search – the online survey provides community members the opportunity to share what is important to them in the district’s next superintendent.

“As board members chosen by our local community, it’s very important to us to pick a leader who really understands what makes our community special. We know that our students, families, staff and community members all have a different perspective and we can’t wait to hear from all of you as we kick off this important search,” shared OKCPS Board Chair Paula Lewis. “The online survey will provide our board with valuable feedback allowing us to have very meaningful conversations around the next leader of our district. We want to know what qualities and traits you think our new superintendent should have and hope you will take this opportunity to share your thoughts with us!”

Families, students, staff and community members can access the survey on the district’s website until Friday, April 5.

Applications will be accepted through April 12. For more information on the position, visit http://ossba.org/okc24 .

OSSBA has helped facilitate superintendent searches across the state, working with other school board associations and organizations throughout the country to ensure a competitive candidate pool. The non-profit organization has partnered with several Oklahoma school districts of all sizes to perform superintendent searches, including Enid, Edmond, Bethany and Piedmont.

OSSBA assists districts with advertising openings, recruiting potential candidates, furnishing an online application management system, and providing guidance and support throughout the search process.
