Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) sends this information as posted below:
(Oklahoma City, OK) – Last week, OKCPS celebrated its school leaders and the growth they have achieved at the helm of their schools. Nearly all OKCPS schools saw improvements in benchmarks from teacher attendance to student math skills. A “Legendary Leaders of Learning” awards luncheon was held on Thursday at Cantera Event Center, where school and district leaders were treated to lunch thanks to the generosity of our sponsors: OKC Thunder and Grand Canyon University, and all attendees received a reusable cup from Simple Modern.
There were significant year-to-year improvements in all the categories from student agency and voice to each high school seeing ACT scores increase from Spring 2023 to Spring 2024. A few highlights from the awards are listed below. Generally, an elementary school, a middle school and a high school were selected for each category.
Through these recognitions, hosted by the Instructional Leadership Directors (ILDs), the Legendary Leaders of Learners: Principals Awards serves as a testament to the impactful and dedicated leadership that drives our mission of providing equitable access to a world-class education for all students in the OKCPS district.
