OKC Parks and North OKC Soccer Club invite the community to a ribbon cutting and community carnival for phase 1 of the C.B. Cameron Sports Complex, 4000 NW 122nd St., from 1 – 4 p.m. on Sept. 8.
The $5 million athletic complex, funded through the Better Streets, Safer City bond program, features five new rectangular athletic fields, restrooms, concessions, field lighting, parking and a new entrance on NW 122nd Street.
The carnival will include free soccer demonstrations, games, face painting, community resource information, food trucks and more.
“We are excited to open this first phase of improvements for the community to explore,” OKC Parks Director Melinda McMillan-Miller said. “Youth sports is a growing industry, and we are proud to develop quality fields and amenities for Oklahoma City youth to enjoy today and in the future with additional MAPS 4 developments.”
Future phases of the sports complex will include an investment from MAPS 4 and private contributions that will add more fields and amenities starting in 2025.
