The City of OKC sends this information as posted below:
Oklahoma City Municipal Court is warning people who owe money for outstanding tickets to be aware of a spoofing scam that’s underway.
Scammers posing as OKC Court employees and law enforcement officers are calling residents from what appears to be an OKC Municipal Court phone number and demanding they pay their tickets over the phone, or they will go to jail.
People who get a phone call demanding money should hang up and call Municipal Court at (405) 297-3898 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays). People can also visit the Municipal Court Customer Service Window, 701 Couch Drive, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except City-observed holidays, or visit okc.gov/court for an online payment link and other details.
As with any case in Oklahoma City Municipal Court, people with financial difficulties can request a hearing for a judge to determine their ability to pay. Judges have the discretion to waive or reduce fines, costs and fees for people who can’t afford them.
