The community is invited to a discussion on human rights in housing at the Human Rights Commission’s Sept. 25 meeting.
The presentation, titled “Human Rights in Housing: Examining Local Opportunities for Advocacy and Action,” and the HRC meeting will be held at noon Sept. 25 at Capitol Hill Library, 327 SW 27th St. The event is open to all ages.
The discussion includes local professionals from the following organizations.
- Jenna Pilcher with Oklahoma City University School of Law, Housing Eviction Legal Assistance Program (HELP).
- Gregory Beben (Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Inc.).
- Lisa Chronister (Assistant Director of the Oklahoma City Planning Department).
“We are excited to continue the conversation from our July meeting, which focused on housing as a human right,” Human Rights Commission Compliance Officer Emma Winiski said. “There are so many dedicated people who are working in this space within OKC and in our broader community, and we hope that residents will come learn about the work they are doing and ways to get involved.”
