Mollie Spencer Farm Reschedules Spring Open House to May 11
Annual event features self-guided tours and information stations
Visitors to Mollie Spencer Farm’s Spring Open House on May 11 can attend information stations and learn more about the farm.
Mollie Spencer Farm has rescheduled its annual Spring Open House. The event, originally planned for April 20, will now take place May 11 from 9-11 a.m. This free event for all ages consists of interactive self-guided tours, information stations highlighting farm activities and complimentary light refreshments.
Attendees will be able to visit the Farm’s pollinator garden, vegetable garden, pond and apiary. Beginning at 9 a.m., visitors can engage with local experts on bee biology, including the different types of honeybees, their roles in the hive, bee safety and hive maintenance. Plus, it wouldn’t be a farm tour without saying hello to animals like sheep, donkeys, horses, goats and longhorns.
Emma Newberry-Davis, programs manager at Mollie Spencer Farm, emphasized why the open house is so important to the farm.
“The Open House is a fun way to celebrate spring by enjoying the outdoors,” said Newberry-Davis. “Seeing the excitement on visitors’ faces as we come together as a community and explore our gardens, support animal well-being and learn about our conservation efforts reaffirms the importance of what we do every day.”
