The City of OKC sends this information as posted below:
Today, area leaders commemorated the location of the future MAPS 4 multipurpose stadium with a flag raising event. In the days and months ahead, the flagpole will carry various emblems, starting with rotating “OKC for Soccer” and “OKC es Fútbol” flags, until the stadium is completed in spring 2027.
Located on the nine-acre property donated to the city by multi-strategy investment firm Echo, the oversized flags will be visible to drivers along I-40 and raise awareness of the stadium’s site east of the OKC Convention Center and south of Bricktown. The goal of this initiative is to build continued excitement for the future stadium and the growth of sports & entertainment in downtown OKC.
Prominent attendees who joined to celebrate the flag raising included Mayor David Holt, Echo’s CEO Christian Kanady, MAPS 4 Citizens Advisory Board Chair Teresa Rose, LCDA CEO Salvador Ontiveros and OKC for Soccer President Court Jeske.
Stadium Details
The $71 million multipurpose stadium will include a United States Soccer Federation (USSF)-approved pitch, seating for approximately 12,300 guests, locker rooms, and suites. Construction is expected to begin this fall, and the stadium will ultimately open in the spring of 2027. As the majority owner of OKC’s professional soccer club, Echo is driving the OKC for Soccer | OKC es Fútbol movement and will operate the stadium, which will be the future home to both women’s and men’s teams.
Over time, Echo also plans to develop the surrounding area into a sports-centered entertainment district in partnership with Robinson Park. When the area develops, visitors will be able to walk from restaurants, retail stores, and residences to attend a wide variety of events and activities in the new entertainment district.
