Police investigating death at NW OKC convenience store

OKLAHOMA CITY — A person found dead at a far northwest Oklahoma City convenience store is now being investigated as a homicide by Oklahoma City Police.

Around 3 AM Friday OKCPD patrol officers were dispatched to check the welfare of someone at the 7-11 convenience store at the intersection of N. Council Road and Wilshire Avenue.

When they arrived they found the body of one individual and pronounced them dead at the scene, PIO MSgt. Dillon Quirk told Free Press. “The scene and condition of the body were consistent with a homicide.”

No arrests have been made and the name of the victim has not been released until notification to next of kin has been made.

At noon, the entire property was still taped off, and customers were not allowed in even though there was no police presence.

Persistent, statements around the metro are that the person found dead was a clerk at the store, but Quirk was not willing to confirm or deny that in our interview.

At publication Free Press had not received any response to our email to the 7-11 corporation media relations, the only means they allow.

MSgt. Quirk said that they would likely release more information Monday.

Free Press will continue to update this story as we gain new, reliable information.
