Police find two dead from gunshot wounds in far west OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY — A husband and wife were found dead with gunshot wounds Monday afternoon in far west Oklahoma City between Mustang and Yukon.

Patrol officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were sent to 11719 Hollyrock Ct. in far west Oklahoma City near Mustang Road and I-40 around 5:42 PM.

When they arrived they found two adults in a bedroom who had gunshot wounds and were dead, according to a press release.

They have been identified as:

  • Rophy Bishop, a 74-year-old male.
  • Mary Bishop, a 35-year-old female.

The two are identified as having been husband and wife.

After an initial investigation, detectives believe that the husband shot and killed his wife, and then turned the gun on himself. The act is commonly referred to as “murder/suicide.”
