It is homicide #2 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2025.

In the dark early hours of Sunday morning around 12:39 AM patrol officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were dispatched to an apartment at 7000 S. Walker on reports of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found Carol Watkins in critical condition from stabbing wounds.

Watkins was then transported to an area hospital where she died from her wounds.

The officers located her son, Odis Watkins at the scene, placed him under arrest, then booked him into the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

After an initial investigation, detectives believe that the elder and younger Watkins began to argue when Odis Watkins stabbed his mother with a knife.
