OKLAHOMA CITY — In what police believe to have been a domestic dispute, one person is dead and another is in the Oklahoma County jail.
The death is being counted by the Oklahoma City Police Department as the 63rd homicide for the City of Oklahoma City in 2024.
Monday at 6:11 PM patrol officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were dispatched to the 800 block of East Drive to check out reports of a dead person found in a vehicle.
That location is in a neighborhood just north of the OU Medical Center campus.
After an initial investigation, detectives believe that the dead person and another person were involved in a “domestic dispute earlier in the day in the 3000 block of South I-35 Service Road,” according to OKCPD Sgt. Dillon Quirk in a press release.
“At some point during the altercation, the suspect struck the victim with their vehicle. The victim was not taken to a hospital and later died inside the vehicle,” said Quirk.
The suspect in the case is:
- Jessica Yeahquo, 32
Detectives interviewed Yeahquo and booked her into the Oklahoma County Detention Center Tuesday afternoon on a single complaint of Second Degree Murder.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
Police say that the investigation is in its early stages. They ask anyone with information to call their Homicide Tip Line at 405/297-1200.
