OKCPS application schools deadline is February 24

OKLAHOMA CITY — The deadline for applying to application schools is approaching next week, and Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) wants to urge both existing and prospective students who might be interested in doing so to act quickly. 

Any 4th through 11th grader from any district is eligible to apply to one of the application schools. However, pupils who reside inside the boundaries of OKCPS are given preference. Achievement tests, attendance, auditions, grades, and/or recommendations are all possible selection criteria.

According to Dr. Sean McDaniel, superintendent of OKCPS, “these free public middle and high schools enable OKCPS to offer families choices when it comes to their students’ education.” 

“In addition to traditional neighborhood schools and e3, our online learning platform, OKCPS is providing a number of options to meet the needs of individual students and families,” said McDaniel. “The possibility that the first graduating class of Belle Isle Enterprise High School, which will open in 2026, will include pupils attending Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School, is also thrilling.”

Visit www.okcps.org/applicationschools to submit an application by February 24, 2023, if you are interested in having your child attend one of these schools for the 2023–24 academic year. Please check the webpage of the school(s) a student is interested in attending as some may require additional submissions or auditions.
