OKC man shot to death morning after 41st birthday

OKLAHOMA CITY — In less than 24 hours after his 41st birthday, an OKC man was found by police lying dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

The death is homicide #1 for 2025 in the City of Oklahoma City.

Patrol officers were dispatched to the 9300 block of SW 45th Ct. Saturday at 9:09 AM in response to calls about a shooting.

When they arrived they found Shawn Lawrence already dead and showing signs of gunshot wounds.

In the early stages of their investigation, detectives gathered information that points to an altercation in which Lawrence was shot and killed.

“The shooter and all other involved persons were interviewed and released. The case will be presented to the Canadian County DA’s office for review,” reads the press release from the Oklahoma City Police Department.

The shooting location is in Oklahoma City limits nearest to SW 44th and S. County Line Road in the first mile inside Canadian County. The Oklahoma City limits with development run irregularly along most of the eastern quarter of Canadian County.
