OKLAHOMA CITY — A southside OKC woman is dead but her child is safe after having been abducted by the ex-husband of the woman.

Police believe that Chase Ainsworth, 34, murdered Samantha Ainsworth, 31, and then left with their young child Saturday around 3 p.m.

Officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were sent to a residence near S.W. 104th St. and S. May Ave. Saturday in response to a domestic disturbance call.

When they arrived they found Samantha Ainsworth dead from what they assessed to be “consistent with a homicide,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk with the OKCPD.

After an amber alert was triggered, police were able to locate Chase Ainsworth and the child in the 12000 block of Chisholm Road.

Police entered the home and found the child unharmed, and arrested Ainsworth.

He was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on complaints of First-Degree Murder and Child Stealing.
