OKLAHOMA CITY — A 17-year-old was arrested and booked for murder in the shooting death of a 34-year-old man Wednesday.
The death marks homicide #43 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2024.
Jenabel Acevedo was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center on a murder complaint in the death of 34-year-old Isai Vera.
Patrol officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were dispatched to a motel at 3501 S. I-35 Service Road at 5:41 PM Wednesday in response to a shooting.
They found a victim, Isai Vera, who had been shot.
He was transported to an area hospital where he died a short time after arrival.
From their initial investigation, detectives believe that Jenabel Acevedo “was present with Vera at the time he was shot” and “fled the scene in a vehicle with other unknown persons after the shooting,” according to Sgt. Dillon Quirk in a press release.
Detectives located and arrested Acevedo then booked her into the Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Center.
Sgt. Quirk said the investigation is in its early stages and urges anyone with information to call the Homicide Tip Line at 405/297-1200.
