Hey! What’s going on with my City of OKC trash pickup?! — Updated

OKLAHOMA CITY — Every holiday, someone’s trash won’t get picked up because workers have that day off. What happens to that schedule and other scheduled services in the 621 square miles of the City of Oklahoma City?

According to city staff, here is the info not just about trash pickup but all city services over this weekend that has Monday as a holiday:

UPDATED!

New Year’s Eve (Sunday, Dec. 31)

  • EMBARK buses on a weekend schedule. RAPID on a regular schedule but extend three blocks running until 2 a.m. OKC Streetcar operates until 2 a.m. Free fares.
    • Customer service is closed.

New Year’s Day (Monday, Jan. 1)

  • No trash or recycling pickup. Makeup day Wednesday, Jan. 3. Bulky waste pickup not affected.
  • EMBARK buses on a weekend schedule. RAPID operates on a 30-minute frequency from 7 a.m. – midnight. OKC Streetcar on a regular schedule. Free fares.
    • Customer service is closed.
  • Closed:
    • City offices.
    • Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center.
    • Animal Shelter.
    • Municipal Court pay window.
    • OKC Parks recreation centers, gyms, senior centers and pools.
    • Will Rogers Gardens Exhibition Center and Ed Lycan Conservatory.
      • Outdoor grounds open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    • Martin Park Nature Center Visitor Center.
      • Outdoor grounds open 5 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Christmas Day (Monday, Dec. 25)

  • No trash or recycling pickup. Makeup day Wednesday, Dec. 27. Bulky waste pickup not affected.
  • EMBARK buses on a weekend schedule. RAPID operates a 30-minute service from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. OKC Streetcar operates from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Free fares for both.
    • Customer service closed.
  • Closed:
    • City offices.
    • Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center.
    • Animal Shelter.
    • Municipal Court pay window.
    • OKC Parks recreation centers, gyms, senior centers and pools.

  • The OKC Animal Shelter is open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Closed:
    • City offices.
    • Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center.
    • Municipal Court pay window.
    • OKC Parks recreation centers, gyms, senior centers and pools.
    • Will Rogers Gardens Exhibition Center and Ed Lycan Conservatory.
      • Outdoor grounds open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    • Martin Park Nature Center Visitor Center.
      • Outdoor grounds open 5 a.m. – 6 p.m.
