Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is inviting everyone to visit the OKC Animal Shelter and participate in the “Endless Love” events happening in February.
The Shelter is asking the community to help save 600 lives through adoption.
“The shelter is at critical capacity and needs the community’s help,” OKC Animal Welfare Superintendent Jon Gary said. “This is a perfect event to find a new pet and help animals in need.”
To support this big adoption goal, the Shelter is going back in time. Visitors can look for their forever friend while enjoying 80s music inside the Shelter. Adopters can further the cause by taking a totally tubular 80s-themed picture at the Shelter’s picture station.
The adoption fees for dogs 40 lbs. and over are being waived, because nobody puts baby in a corner. All adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations.
Even if you can’t adopt, you can participate by taking pictures of the shelter pets in the viewing rooms and posting them to social media. Participants are encouraged to use the hashtag #AliveInThe405 to help bring awareness of the importance of adopting animals from the Shelter. Getting shelter pets exposure online helps match pets with a safe, loving home.

People can interact, take pictures and adopt dogs located at the Aveda store and the parking lot area.
Endless Love in the Shelter
Saturday, Feb. 10 | noon to 5 p.m.
OKC Animal Shelter, 2811 SE 29th St.
The community can interact with the pets at the shelter, take pictures with them and upload them to social media to help find them a forever home. Adoptions are available for those interested.

Saturday, Feb. 17 | 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
PetSmart, 7177 SE 29th St.
PetSmart customers and the general public are welcome to adopt pets while in the store. If they can’t find a match, they can view OKC Animal Welfare’s website and visit us at the Shelter.
