OKLAHOMA CITY — A confrontation between two men in far northwest Oklahoma City Monday night ended with one dead from gunshot wounds and one booked for murder.
- Dead: Lawson Gratts, 57
- Booked for second degree murder: Treveon Grant, 22
Officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were sent to the 8000 block of NW 72nd Street on a shooting call, according to a press release.
When they arrived, they found Lawson Gratts to have already died seemingly from gunshot wounds.
The suspect, Treveon Grant, was still at the scene.
From an investigation detectives now believe that the suspect’s mother was involved in a relationship with Gratts. A heated argument led to a fight. Grant then retrieved a handgun and shot Gratts.
Grant was placed under arrest and was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of second-degree murder at 4:42 a.m. Tuesday.
