In celebration of Dolly Parton’s birthday, we are hosting Dolly Day on Friday, January 19!

Join us around the Metropolitan Library System for a full day of special festivities in support of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library (DPIL) which helps children get access to free books each month!

Guitar-Take-Home-Kit

Participants can take home an all-ages guitar-themed notebook kit to explore writing, music, and creativity inspired by Dolly’s Imagination Library journey.

(Available at the Almonte Library, Bethany Library, Capitol Hill Library, Del City Library, Downtown Library, Edmond Library, Luther Library, Midwest City Library, Ralph Ellison Library, Southern Oaks Library, The Village Library, Warr Acres Library, and Wright Library)

The Little Engine That Could Scavenger Hunt

Can you find the trains in this scavenger hunt featuring “The Little Engine That Could,” the first book children receive from DPIL?

Pop-Up Photo Booth

Snap a photo and share photos from the pop-up photo booth at select locations. Pick a Dolly wig, microphone or guitar to pose with and be sure to tag @metrolibraryok and use #DollyDay to join the online festivities. Your photo may even be shared on a Metro Library social media account!
