Death on south side being classified as OKC’s latest homicide

OKLAHOMA CITY (Free Press) — A man was already dead when officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department responded to a call in the dark morning hours on the south side Sunday.

Officers responded to reports of a dead person in a mobile home at 3500 S. Douglas Blvd. Sunday at 1:47 a.m.

They found 55-year-old Clifton Whitetree with injuries police believe were “consisten with homicide.”

“Life-saving measures were performed; however, Mr. Whitetree was pronounced dead on scene at 2:37 a.m.,” according to a police press release.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is in the early stages.
