Child dies in drive-by shooting — 60th City of OKC homicide in 2022

OKLAHOMA CITY (Free Press) — A child was killed in a drive-by shooting in southeast Oklahoma City Tuesday marking the city’s 60th homicide in 2022.

UPDATED Oct. 6 — The child’s name is Dumarcus Fuller Jr. thought to be 8 or 9 years old. The Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) said in a press release that, “due to conflicting dates of birth given for him by the family, we are unable to ascertain his true age.”

Police were called to 2516 S.E. 47th Street Tuesday evening at 9:07 p.m. on reports of a drive-by shooting.

When officers arrived they found that the child had been hit by gunfire and had been taken to a local hospital by a private vehicle.

The child was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police say that the investigation is in its early stages with no arrests being made so far.
