OKLAHOMA CITY — A residence in southeast Oklahoma City was processed as a crime scene after a tip led police to a body in a backyard grave.
Detectives with the Oklahoma City Police Department went to a residence in the 5300 block of Foster Drive in Oklahoma City after a tip Tuesday let them know that there may be a body buried in the backyard said Sgt. Dillon Quirk Wednesday.
An OKCPD crime scene team along with a team from the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office used a sniffing device to locate the body in the backyard with a tent erected to protect their work from the intermittent rains.
Both teams processed the scene all day according to Quirk.
UPDATE — Next-of-kin notification has been made and the victim has been positively identified as:
- Jose Ronauro Diaz Herrera, 30.
After an initial investigation, detectives believed that they had enough information to establish probable cause and book the suspect into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on one complaint of First Degree Murder. The suspect is:
- Juan Luis Lopez-Aldana, 22
Bond has not been set as of publication.
The body is now with the ME’s Office for an autopsy. Typically, it takes about a month or longer for an autopsy report to be returned.
