ARTonTAP bringing brews back to OKCMOA for 19th year

One of the Oklahoma City Museum of Art’s most beloved and anticipated annual events is gearing up to toast 2022.

ARTonTAP, the museum’s yearly fundraising collaboration with local breweries from all over the state, is set to bring a massive number of beers – as well as some other, possibly stronger beverage options – to the mercifully mild open air of autumn on Friday, October 7th.

“We are excited to transform Couch Drive once again into the ARTonTAP Block Party,” said OKCMOA’s director of development Kimberley Worrell in a press statement. “Last year’s outdoor block party was a huge success, and we look forward to bringing you an even better night under the stars next month.”

Guests can look forward to samples of over 80 different brews from 20 Oklahoman beermakers, as well as hard seltzer from OKC’s Clubby, cider from OK Cider Co., and hors d’oeuvres courtesy of 84 Hospitality Group, the minds behind Empire Slice House, Burger Punk, Goro Ramen, and more.

After 17 straight years of increasing success and growing attendance, the event was unsurprisingly missing from the schedule in 2020.

Returning in 2021, the decision was made to move the event outdoors into the museum’s parking area and the open Couch Drive lawn for the first time ever in order to better retain the suggested distancing and precautions of the Delta-era COVID pandemic.

“Moving the event outdoors allows us to gather together safely while still offering an opportunity to support our local brewers and the museum,” said Worrell at the time.

The move proved to be a rousing success, with beer-hungry attendees reaching pre-pandemic numbers, and rather than toy with a winning formula, organizers decided to hold the event outdoors once again for 2022.

“It’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience that showcases the most exciting new brews at one of OKC’s best venues,” said Rick Higginson, vice president of sales and marketing for Capital Distributing, the primary sponsor and supplying partner for ARTonTAP. “We love supporting the museum and their exceptional exhibitions through such a great event.”

If guests prefer something a bit harder or more luxurious, they can get a ticket to the VIP section on the museum’s newly renovated roof terrace. There, statewide distributor RNDC will be providing pours of wine and spirits to pair with the city skyline views.

Tickets for ARTonTAP at OKCMOA on Friday, October 7th are available now at okcmoa.com. Museum members receive a discounted price for both general and VIP tickets. All guests must be 21 years or older to attend.
