Northeast OKC apartment shooting leads to year’s 43rd homicide


OKLAHOMA CITY – A shooting in a northeast Oklahoma City apartment complex left one young man dead over the weekend, but police still have no arrests and no suspects to report.

Just after 3:00am in the early morning of Saturday, August 1st, police responded to reports of gunfire in an apartment complex near NE 11th St. and N Walnut Ave.

When they arrived, they found 21-year-old Knowledge Dewayne Johnson lying on a sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds.

Johnson was transported to an area hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after.

OKCPD has confirmed that they’ve made no arrests and that “no suspects have been indentified.”

They are asking anyone with any knowledge or information of the killing to call the Homicide Tip-Line at (405) 297-1200.

Knowledge Dewayne Johnson’s killing will be recorded as the 43rd homicide in Oklahoma City this year.
